If a story by Kotaku and found through a source on Reddit is to be believed, it looks like the PlayStation will finally catch up to Microsoft with GamePass later this year. Based on the following image that was circulated it means this might apply to only PlayStation 4 games (PS3 games are too hard to emulate based on the PS3’s hardware structure).
Again, this seems speculative at best, but with Microsoft doubling down at E3 on GamePass and Sony under scrutiny regarding Fortnite and Cross-Play this announcement could do a lot to restore the good faith Sony has been pressing with consumers as of late.
PlayStation Now currently boasts over 650 games for streaming, so even half of that being available would be an amazing deal for PS Now.
We shall wait and see if this develops any further, but let’s keep our fingers crossed.
